So much done in such a short time -it's getting too hard to keep this blog up-to-date. Today was simply the most perfect imaginable. We met up at the usual time and set off for Lake Wanaka, about 100 km away. There was simply not a cloud in the sky – picture postcard perfect. About halfway, we stopped off at a roadside fruit barn and stocked up with wonderful local fruit and honey. Then it was off to PuzzleWorld – where the students had fun trying to work their way around the maze, check out the different illusion rooms and take millions of photos. Then it was off to Wanaka and a picnic lunch next to the lake. If there is a more beautiful place in the world, I am yet to see it. Beautiful small town, crystal clear lake, snow covered mountains – everything so lovely it's hard to describe. After lunch it was time for archery, golf and rifle shooting. Irissa turned out to be an excellent markswoman with a rifle and Gigi was amazing with a bow and arrow. Then it was off to the mountain and snow – LOTS OF SNOW! It all started so peacefully, walking and taking photos and then someone (guess who?) threw the first snowball. After that it was like World War 3 – snowballs flying everywhere, sudden ambushes, friends changing sides and attacking friends – it was chaos and such great fun. One person escaped all the carnage – guess who? Anyway, after about 45 minutes we headed back to the bus – covered in snow, freezing cold and very very happy. Some people were covered in more snow than others but maybe one of the teachers and the old lady were the wettest.

It looks and sounds as if you have created the most perfect overseas experience ever for your students! What a trip!! Seems as if everything is going so well with weather, exciting and interesting activities, scenery, people, homestays....just perfect. They won't want to go home!! All the kids look very happy in the photos. I guess they know how lucky they are to have such a proactive teacher to organise this kind of trip for them :-)
