Snow is forecast for Friday – I hope the forecasters are right as we plan to drive up to the nearest ski resort and spend some time in the afternoon playing in the snow. Today the weather was perfect, clear blue skies with just a few puffy, white clouds. Tomorrow we go horse-riding but the forecast is for rain – oh no!

Both the younger John and me, the old one, have been very impressed with the effort the students are making to speak English, now this may be a surprise to some, especially the boys. I drove Scorpio and Steven from Form 3 home this evening, and they spent the whole time in the car talking English together. Very impressive! In fact, all the students, even Sherry Chan :-), have been wonderful. I don't think they really liked the lunch today, bean and vegetable soup, but nobody really complained, so that was good. I think they have accepted very maturely that things are different in other places and they are willing to try everything at least once.

The activities so far have been very successful and I think the lessons are going well. I am certainly impressed with the dedication and professionalism of everyone at the college.

It all sounds wonderful!! So glad all the students are enjoying New Zealand and having their eyes opened to a different way of life. It really is impressive that they are all so willing to speak English - they will find they have made lots of progress by the time they return to HK. Great that John managed to organise such a fantastic trip!

I met Scorpio's mum today and she told me that Scorpio was enjoying his trip very much in NZ. Thanks Johns
